Book descriptions:

A little book with a big heart!

From the New York Times bestselling author of A Man Called Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, and Britt-Marie Was Here comes an exquisitely moving portrait of an elderly man’s struggle to hold on to his most precious memories, and his family’s efforts to care for him even as they must find a way to let go.

With all the same charm of his bestselling full-length novels, here Fredrik Backman once again reveals his unrivaled understanding of human nature and deep compassion for people in difficult circumstances. This is a tiny gem with a message you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Review :

I think I know why I attached to Backman books, Backman always had 'Grandma' and 'Grandpa' as the main character, which I don't have, now.

From the 5th book that I already read from Backman, there is no single book that I don't like. All the stories makes me sad and warm at the same time.

This novella is about an abuelo who suffer from dementia, he tried to recall his memories, the memories he want to keep and afraid to forget, because he keep losing his memories day by day.

Not only the Grandpa side, it's also show how hard and sad to be the family, they see the Grandpa suffering while the only thing they could do is acompany him. And telling the stories that Grandpa told them, so he maybe could remember.

When i read the other Backman book, they sometimes giving the happy and cheerfull moment so we could breath while trying to finish the book, but this is the second time after "The deal of the life time" i need to brace myself to finish this book, it's was gloomy and dark, yet beautiful.

Maybe this is why we don't want to grow up, because its scared us much. Imagine someday we will forget everything and suffer trying to recall and hold onto the memories.

I love all the characters, i love what the love they had for each other. I hope that we have someone to hold our hands, so that we don't feel lonely going through this someday.

Have a great weekend! 🌻
