Book Review : Britt-Marie Was Here
Title : Britt-Marrie Was Here
Year : 2016
Publisher : Sceptee

Blurb :
At first sight, Britt-Marie is a fussy, passive-aggressive busybody. But hidden inside her is a woman who has bigger dreams and a warmer heart than anyone around her imagines. When she finds herself alone for the first time in decades, she realizes she's spent her life making choices for the sake of other people.
Is lt too late for her to change?
And In a small town of big-hearted misfits, can Britt-Marie find a place where she truly belongs?
Review :
I already read two of Backman books, first is My Grandmother Ask Me to Tell You she's Sorry, and the second book was A Man Called Ove.
Backman never disapoimyed me with his work. Even his IG caption always fun to read and both Indonesian and English translations (because the original book is in Swedish) is able to make me fall in love even though it has been translated.
Reading Britt-Marie is like drinking fresh afternoon tea (sugar free), bitter and warm. And that's my cup of tea.
In one chapter I can laugh at how eccentric Brittmarie's is, but in another chapter i want to crying with Britt-Marie. This rollercoaster feeling you had when you read Backman books.
There is a lot we can learn from Britt-Marie and the people at Borg. We can't judge people only from their appearance, we need to listen to other, because maybe he's right and we are wrong. We need to be more open to everything ahead us.
Britt-Marie teach us, that small things matter.
Here's one of the quotes from Britt-Marie,
"As people do when they don't have the ability to distinguish between 'a place to live' and 'a home'. It's actually thoughfulness that makes the difference."
I recommend this book to people who are on their way to finding a 'home' to be back, finding someone who waits behind their bedroom window and stays awake for you. Finding their self, the true self, someone who want to try to be more open to the new world.
For people who believe that little things matter and can change big things, and the fact that there is someone remembers you.
I hope you could find a warmth like how pizzeria welcome their guest. Have a nice Monday tomorrow! 💕
